I’m not feeling the headline type. It’s hard to read and it doesn’t really match up with the subject. The placement also disconnects it from the accompanying text.
Be aware of the content of the photo, having both women looking off the page traps your eye on the left page. It would be MUCH more dynamic to have them on the right side, looking in at the type.
The text is just laying there right now. You need to design this part too! Think about pull quotes and other elements to give this section some interest.
It’s tempting to put the text in that open spot on the photo, BUT look how tight it gets to the ‘edges’ of the space. Very uncomfortable.
